What are Adverse Childhood Experiences? Traumatic or stressful childhood events such as abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction. Experiences like crime, parental conflict, mental illness, substance abuse and beyond can result in long-term negative effects on learning, behavior and health outcomes across the life span. A panel presentation of local experts; Dr. Angela May, NOCHS Pediatrics; Leigh Moerdyke, Arbor Circle/SCAN Council; Ann Heerde, LMSW, OC CMH; Ria Nieboer, LMSW CAADC, Pine Rest; Jodi Spicer, Master ACEs Trainer, DHHS will provide information on this fascinating topic.
